How it all began

In early 2024, after losing my mother Marge to cancer, I left my job in warehousing feeling lost. Her passing was the catalyst for a major change in my life. I knew I wanted to do something she would be proud of, and something that would give me more valuable time with my young family.

I decided to pursue a long-held interest in web design and enrolled in a 16-week software development bootcamp with Code Institute. It was there that the journey truly began. I fell in love with development, building projects, and taking part in hackathons with fellow coders in South Yorkshire.

After the bootcamp, I knew I wanted to take my new passion and turn it into a business that could help other people. That's when Regma Web Design was born.

The story behind the name

The name 'Regma' is more than just a name to me. It's an anagram of Marge, my mum's name. In late 2023, I lost my mum to cancer after a short battle. Her passing made me re-evaluate everything, and I knew I wanted to do something she would have been proud of. I wanted her memory to be woven into the business, so I played around with anagrams of her name and landed on 'Regma'. Her favourite colour was purple, which is why it’s at the heart of the Regma logo. The whole business is a tribute to her.

I’m Tom, the founder and web developer at REGMA, born and raised in Sheffield. After losing my mum, Marge, in 2024, I knew I wanted to create something meaningful, something she would be proud of and a life that allowed me to spend more time with my young family. I am here to make things a little easier for small businesses and to create websites that feel personal and human.

I’m Helena, the creative powerhouse at REGMA, bringing visuals, logos, and branding to life for small businesses. Originally from the Czech Republic, I’ve been making my mark in the UK since 2015. I wear my heart on my sleeve and am passionate about creating inclusive, welcoming spaces for all. I love helping small businesses grow and bringing creative ideas to life every day.
